It is hard to believe that today is the last day of the year. I’m starting to believe elderly people when they say that time goes by faster as you get older.
I will remember 2013 as the year of great things: I turned 30, I got a new job, we got a new car, we went to the coast twice and I started this blog. Though it is sad to bid farewell to fabulous times I am of opinion that the best is yet to come!
My hubby and I enjoyed this tasty steak and onion sandwich as a celebration of my 50th blog post and the blessed year that was 2013: eat, drink and be merry!
4 buns, I used dinkel yogurt bread rolls
8 small minute steaks
1 teaspoon garlic
1 green pepper
1. Fry the onions and garlic with a splash of olive oil in a thick-base pan. Add the green pepper once the onions go limp. When the onions are brown, set aside.
2. Fry the minute steak in the same pan – it will absorb the flavours of the onions and garlic. Add some salt or braai spice while cooking the steak as you like it.
3. Cut open the rolls and lightly toast it.
4. To assemble, butter the rolls generously and lay some lettuce on the bottom half. Place the two pieces of steak on the lettuce, the onions and green pepper on top of the steak and top it of with the Camembert cheese.
