When I was a little girl I wasn’t particularly fond of seafood. The smell and texture of fish just was not what I considered a dinnertime treat. My mom urged me to try it out by explaining that fish makes you smart… and pumpkin makes your hair curl… and carrots make you see better.
Here is my dilemma: my hair is dead straight and I wear glasses that make me look like Buddy Holly’s twin sister (I’m reeeaaally hoping in a cool way). Oi, maybe I should’ve eaten the fish.
100 g vermicelli noodles, cooked according to packet instructions
800 g frozen mixed seafood, thawed
1 teaspoon minced chilli
2 teaspoon garlic
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
- Get a frying pan very hot with a splash of oil. Add the minced chilli, garlic and lemon zest. Stir around to flavour the oil and add the mixed seafood.
- The seafood will be cooked within a few minutes where after you add the soy sauce, lemon juice and fish sauce.
- Add the noodles and enjoy.
