Raisin bread

There are quite a few celebrities celebrating their birthdays today. Jodie Foster (love her!), Meg Ryan (romcom queen) and Larry King (does he still have a show?). Also, the McCaughey setuplets turn 17 today. Seven children at once? Seven?

This raisin bread is such a nice teatime treat and when slathered with butter it is really, really delicious. If I had to share this bread with seven children, well eight since they have an older sister, and my hubby – everyone will only get like one slice. It might be a better plan to just give each one their one raisin bread and a block of unsalted butter. Yes, I’m opting for that.

For a 750 g bread – Recipe from the Morphy Richards Fusion Bread Maker recipe booklet

250 ml water

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 tablespoon margarine

1,5 teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon milk powder

480 g plain bread flour

2 teaspoon yeast

200 g raisins

1. Pour the water and margarine in the bread pan.

2. Add the cinnamon, salt, sugar, milk powder and flour.

3. Finally, add the yeast and fill the fruit and nut dispenser with the raisins. Bake according to your machine’s specifications.
